Last updated: [EFFECTIVE_DATE]
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Teddy’s Book Workshop (the “Service”), operated by [COMPANY_NAME] (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account. The Service is designed to help authors (including parents and guardians writing with or for children) create books. If you use the Service on behalf of a child, you are responsible for that use and for any content created.
2. Your account
You are responsible for safeguarding access to your account and for all activity that occurs under it. We use passwordless email sign-in; keep access to your email secure. Notify us promptly at [CONTACT_EMAIL] of any unauthorized use.
3. Subscriptions, free tier, and billing
The Service offers a free tier with a limited monthly allowance of AI-assisted generation, and a paid “Pro” subscription with expanded usage. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each renewal until you cancel. Prices and included usage are described at the point of purchase and may change on notice as described in Section 9.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the text, characters, outlines, and other materials you create or upload (“Your Content”). You grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service to you — including sending it to our AI provider(s) to generate the assistance you request. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and do not sell it.
5. AI-generated material
The Service uses third-party AI models to generate suggestions, drafts, outlines, and images at your direction. AI output can be inaccurate, derivative, or unsuitable, and similar output may be generated for other users. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and deciding whether to use any output, and for ensuring the final work is appropriate and does not infringe others’ rights. We make no warranty regarding the originality, accuracy, or fitness of AI-generated material.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- create unlawful, infringing, or harmful content, or content that exploits or endangers minors;
- attempt to circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or access controls;
- reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its infrastructure; or
- resell or provide the Service to third parties except as expressly permitted.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service and cancel at any time (see the Refund & Cancellation Policy). We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms or to comply with law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 4–11) will survive.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability and changes
To the maximum extent permitted by law, [COMPANY_NAME] will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We may update these Terms from time to time; material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located in [JURISDICTION], unless otherwise required by applicable law.
